According to the report of the Ministry of Education and Training, as of September 2, 2025, the number of candidates who have completed their admission confirmation is 625,477 (an increase of 13.82% compared to 2024); of which the undergraduate sector alone is 613.335 equivalent to 52.87% of the total number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam (2024 is 51.3%). The number of training institutions recruiting less than 30% of the target only accounts for 6.5% (16.4% in 2024).

While the average benchmark score in 2025 is about 3 points lower than in 2028, the benchmark scores of majors and schools have strong differentiation.
The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the enrollment results for pedagogical majors and STEM majors have improved significantly. In particular, in the 74 majors with benchmarks based on high school graduation exam scores from 28/30 or higher, there are 50 pedagogical majors and 17 key engineering majors, strategic technology (computing science, artificial intelligence, semiconductor microchips, control and automation, etc.).
In 2025, the total number of candidates registered to enroll will reach 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 500 universities and colleges nationwide.
There are 17 admission methods, no more early admission, increase the number of admissions, wishes and admissions. Candidates place many unknown wishes.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the entire process from registration, fee payment, virtual filtering and admission confirmation has no errors from the general system.
In particular, the Northern group (chaired by Hanoi University of Science and Technology) organized a general admission for 65 training institutions, the initial admission software was overloaded due to the large amount of calculations, the Ministry of Education and Training requested to extend the nationwide virtual filter time by 2 days but still ensure the time to announce the admission results as planned (August 22).
