The event is part of a series of activities of the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Education and Training Festival with the theme "50 years of educational innovation: Imprints of the times - aspirations for the future", jointly organized by the Department of Education and Training (GDDT) of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vovinam Vietnam Federation.
5,000 students participated in live performances at the main location of Riverside Park (An Khanh Ward) and 55,000 students at 150 schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the image of thousands of students participating in practicing and performing not only shows the spirit of solidarity but also reflects the dynamism, confidence and will of the young generation.
"The students have practiced for a long time to set a double record for Vietnam and the world in the largest number of people participating in Vovinam co-performance. You are the heart of the city's 50-year education festival. Today's achievement is the pride of teachers, families and the entire education sector," said Mr. Hieu.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong - Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training, assessed this as an activity of special significance in the series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation and development of the city's education sector.
"The performance not only impressed with its scale, but also demonstrated the spirit of solidarity, discipline and creativity of the students. The double record was established as a testament to educational innovation efforts. At the same time, it affirms Ho Chi Minh City's pioneering position in bringing national cultural and sports values into the school environment," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
