On November 11, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) held a ceremony to honor outstanding advanced models and teachers in the Hanoi Education and Training sector in 2025, commemorating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).
Speaking at the commendation ceremony, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that this year, the Hanoi education sector has made efforts to achieve many outstanding achievements. This is the result of innovation in teaching methods and the sense of responsibility and creativity of the Hanoi teaching staff.
However, the challenges in the development of the Hanoi education and training sector are also huge, requiring great efforts in the new era of development.
In particular, it is necessary to implement solutions to thoroughly overcome the shortcomings and limitations that have lasted for many years, such as: There are differences between inner-city and suburban areas, areas far from the center; teaching staff, school facilities in some places have not met requirements; the vocational education system has not developed commensurately; negative phenomena, achievements, extra teaching and learning are not in accordance with regulations; school violence, students violating traffic; food hygiene and safety in schools... there are times and places that cause concern.
According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, the education and training sector of the capital needs to complete the review and supplementation of the planning of the school network until 2030 and vision to 2045, ensuring "enough schools, enough classes, enough teachers" to meet the learning needs of the people of the capital; improve leadership, direction, management capacity, develop the team of teachers and managers; resolutely rectify negativity and achievements; implement the motto "teacher to teacher, students to learn".
The whole industry needs to promote digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence; improve digital capacity for teachers and students; deploy a unified and synchronous information system to serve management, operation and regulations on data management; build and deploy smart digital education applications and tools; advise on the gradual implementation of the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam on computers.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc also suggested that the education and training sector coordinate to advise on the implementation of innovation in general education programs and teaching methods; focus on teaching foreign languages, especially English, gradually making English the second language in schools; fully prepare conditions to implement 2 sessions/day.
In addition to teaching knowledge according to the prescribed program, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc noted that the whole industry should strengthen education for students about life skills, practical skills, knowing how to love, sympathize, share with people around them, being responsible for the community, society...
He also emphasized the need to pay special attention to the teaching staff - the soul engineers of the people of the capital. I hope each teacher will continuously learn, innovate, spread positive energy, and arouse aspirations in each student - Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc said.
Affirming the viewpoint of "Investing in education is an investment for the future of Hanoi; caring for education is caring for the long-term and sustainable development of the capital, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc said that the City Party Committee will soon issue an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW; create all conditions for the capital's education and training sector to develop a breakthrough; perfect the policy of treating teachers, create the best conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind, contribute and be creative.
"Whatever difficulties and problems that the teachers have reflected and recommended, we will resolve them as quickly as possible, without avoiding any problems" - Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee affirmed.
