Statistics for the period 2023-2025 show that the admission scores between majors of Hanoi Medical University have a clear differentiation.
At the main campus in Hanoi, Medicine and Dentistry - Maxillofacial continue to be the two majors with the highest benchmark scores. Medicine increased from 27.73 points in 2023 to 28.27 points in 2024 before slightly decreasing to 28.13 points in 2025. Meanwhile, Dentistry - Maxillofacial maintained stability with levels of 27.50 points, 27.67 points and 27.34 points for three consecutive years. These are still two majors that require candidates to achieve an average of over 9 points per subject in the admission combination to have many chances of passing.
In the undergraduate group, benchmark scores have more fluctuations. Medical Testing Engineering increased from 24.85 points in 2023 to 25.35 points in 2024, then decreased to 23.72 points in 2025. Rehabilitation Engineering achieved 22.70 points, 24.07 points and 22.50 points respectively. Notably, Nursing major had a strong increase from 21 points in 2023 to 24.59 points in 2024 before decreasing to 22.25 points in 2025.
The deepest decrease belongs to the Preventive Medicine major at the main campus when the benchmark score is from 22.94 points in 2024 to 17 points in 2025. According to the school, this is the first year that many bachelor's majors have expanded admission combinations in addition to the traditional combination B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), with combinations such as A00, B08, D07 and D01. This change makes the benchmark score range in 2025 spread from 17 to 28.13 points, instead of concentrating at a high level like in previous years.
At Thanh Hoa Branch, the benchmark score is generally lower than the main campus by about 1.5 to below 5 points. The Medical major decreased from 26.76 points in 2024 to 25.8 points in 2025, while Nursing from 20.25 points decreased to 17 points. The Medical Laboratory Technology major was enrolled from 2024 with a score of 23.62 and decreased to 22 points in 2025. The Preventive Medicine major is not enrolled at this branch in 2025.
After two years of using the C00 combination, Hanoi Medical University will stop admission through this combination from 2026, and at the same time add new combinations such as A00 and D07 for many training majors.
In 2026, the school plans to enroll 2,150 students, an increase of 240 quotas compared to the previous year, with two enrollment methods: direct admission and high school graduation exam score admission. About 40% of the quota is for direct admission; the remaining quota (if any) will be transferred to exam score admission. Candidates with international certificates are given bonus points, but the bonus points and list of certificates have not yet been announced.
In 2026, many majors of the school adjust the admission combination. Traditional medicine adds the A00 combination in addition to B00; Preventive medicine adds A00 and D07. Nursing, Obstetrics and Nutrition majors also add D07. Notably, the group of public health, Psychology and Social Work majors removed the C00 combination, switching to admission by the A01, D01, D07 and D10 combinations.
