Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has issued a warning about scams related to student exchange programs, international summer camp, and study abroad scholarships. According to the school, many forms of fraud have recently appeared related to student exchange programs, international summer camp, and study abroad scholarships.
Scammers often use sophisticated tricks such as impersonating educational institutions, state agencies, or creating fake websites and social media accounts to invite students and parents to register, request personal information, submit documents and pay fees to steal personal information and appropriate property.


The school recommends that parents, learners and partners follow information from the school's official channels.
Similarly, the Eastern International University (EIU) also issued a warning that recently, on social networks, there have appeared a number of fake posts about admission information, asking candidates to deposit, reserve or pay unclear fees to be considered for admission or receive study abroad scholarships.


Therefore, parents need to be vigilant: Do not transfer money to any individual or organization claiming to be a representative of the school if not clearly verified. At the same time, always check the official admission information on the school's website. Immediately report to the school or authorities if fraud is discovered.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Banking Academy... also issued a scam warning about international student exchange programs and study abroad.
On the side of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of International Cooperation - Ministry of Education and Training has sent an official dispatch to departments of education and training and universities and colleges to warn of scams in participating in international student exchange and study abroad programs.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, scammers often use sophisticated tricks such as impersonating educational institutions, state agencies, or setting up fake websites and social media accounts to invite students to register to participate, asking participants to provide personal information, submit documents and pay fees to steal information and appropriate the assets of victims. Currently, there are citizens who have been scammed into paying fees to participate in the study abroad scholarship program up to hundreds of millions of VND.
In order to proactively prevent and stop fraud and protect the legitimate rights of learners, the Ministry of Education and Training has requested the Departments of Education and Training, higher education institutions, and colleges to warn and propagate to students about fraud related to student exchange programs and international scholarships through the school's official communication channels. At the same time, it is recommended that students look up scholarship and study abroad information from official sources.
The Ministry of Education and Training also said that the unit is currently implementing a number of projects and scholarship programs of the Agreement using the state budget to send people to study abroad.
Admission notices for scholarship programs are sent to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, People's Committees of provinces/cities directly under the Central Government, universities, academies, colleges and posted on the electronic information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training (https://moet.gov.vn) and the Department of International Cooperation - Ministry of Education and Training (https://icd.edu.vn).
In addition, there are a number of scholarship programs issued by foreign governments through the Ministry of Education and Training also posted on the electronic information portal of the Department of International Cooperation. The Ministry of Education and Training informs the Departments of Education and Training, higher education institutions, and colleges to notify students to know and register for admission if needed.
