The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just issued a plan to organize the 80th Anniversary Ceremony of the National Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) and the Opening Ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year.
The solemn ceremony was held to affirm the role, position and glorious historical tradition of the education sector, spreading the spirit of innovation, towards an effective and quality school year.

The ceremony was held at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, at 8:00 a.m. on September 5. The event will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel and connected online to all educational institutions nationwide, from kindergarten to university.
At the ceremony, delegates and guests will review the 50-year tradition of the education sector, listen to the speech of the Minister of Education and Training, and the speeches of outstanding students.
Especially the speech and drumming to open the new school year by the leaders of the Party and State.
The 2025-2026 school year is the first school year that the whole country will operate according to the 2-level government model.
This school year, the education sector will focus on implementing the 2018 general education program associated with organizing 2 teaching sessions/day.
Strengthen conditions to ensure the quality of education, develop a network of schools, build schools that meet national standards, invest in building boarding schools (according to the new model) in border communes; arrange a reasonable team of teachers; have appropriate and timely solutions to support local authorities at the commune level to effectively implement state management of education in the context of merging administrative boundaries and implementing local governance at two levels.
Innovating teaching methods and testing and evaluating students according to the orientation of developing students' qualities and abilities, creating opportunities and conditions for students to develop comprehensively; promoting STEM/STEAM education, digital abilities, artificial intelligence (AI), vocational education and controlling students after secondary and high school; improving the quality of English teaching, gradually making English the second language in schools.
Strengthen and improve the quality of universal education, ensure fairness in educational access; effectively implement ethnic education and inclusive education for students with disabilities.
Promote digital transformation and innovate school governance; strengthen inspection and supervision according to authority; focus on advising local Party committees to include education in general and general education in particular in the action program to implement the Resolutions of Congresses at all levels with specific tasks and targets suitable to the conditions of each locality.
