Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has just responded to the opinions of voters in some provinces sent before the 9th Session of the National Assembly.
In particular, voters in Hung Yen province proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) have a common textbook set applicable to students nationwide to suit current social conditions.
Regarding this content, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that Resolution 88 of the National Assembly has clearly stated the general education program stipulating the requirements for quality and ability that students need to achieve after each level of education.
Along with that are compulsory fields and educational content for all students nationwide.
The 2019 Education Law also stipulates that the general education program must ensure the regulations on the quality and ability requirements that students need to achieve after each level of education, the educational content is compulsory for all students nationwide.

In the 2020 - 2021 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has implemented new programs and textbooks according to the provisions of the 2019 Education Law and schools have organized implementation, initially bringing efficiency.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son also stated that the Ministry has issued Circulars 25/2020 and Circular 27/2023 regulating the selection of textbooks in general education institutions for provinces, cities or general schools to choose textbooks for use in schools.
The 2018 general education program has specified in detail the content and requirements to be achieved for each educational content.
According to the Minister, different textbooks are only different in language materials, methods of expression and teaching methods for each content, but must meet the requirements of the program.
Therefore, when students use different textbooks, they are not affected in terms of knowledge content and requirements.
In addition, textbooks are learning materials for organizing teaching and learning, rich and diverse learning sources will support the teaching and learning process well.
Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to direct the innovation of teaching methods, inspection, assessment and testing. Review and evaluate the current situation and quality of implementation in localities and schools.
At the same time, the Ministry also listens to voters' criticism and comments to strengthen direction solutions in the coming time.
