On the morning of March 15, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh city said that the unit had reported to the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province about the incident of a 16-month-old boy being run over and killed by a parent's car in front of Tuoi Tho Kindergarten at address 09, Lane 247, Vu Quang Street, Tran Phu Ward.
The report stated that on the morning of March 10, Ho Bao L (16 months old) was taken by her mother to Tuoi Tho Kindergarten and handed over to teacher Phan Thi Tr (born in 1990, the owner of the kindergarten).
After receiving the children, Ms. Tr took L to the breakfast class. At this time, Thai Thi X's parents brought their child, so Ms. Tr went out to pick her up without realizing that L had run outside in front of the kindergarten gate.
After that, Ms. X drove the car and hit L. When she discovered the incident, Ms. Tr and the teachers pulled L out of the car to take her to the emergency room, and informed her parents.
After taking L to Ha Tinh Provincial Hospital for emergency treatment and then transferring him to Nghe An Children's Hospital (Nghe An Province), due to serious injuries, he died at 3:00 a.m. on March 11.
According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh City, after this unfortunate incident, the Department has asked other groups of children to learn from experience in picking up and dropping off children, always paying attention to ensuring their safety.
The Department has also requested wards and communes in the area to strengthen inspections and remind childcare facilities.
After the incident, the private childcare facility at Tuoi Tho Kindergarten temporarily stopped operating to focus on resolving the consequences.
This is a facility licensed to operate since October 2023 with a scale of 2 teachers caring for 18 - 20 children.
