Willing to spend money to reduce stress, find creativity
As someone who has a habit of going to coffee shops every day, Tran Manh Tuyen (living in Dong Da, Hanoi) - a final year student at Hanoi University of Culture said that he really likes going to coffee shops to study and work because it has a new space, making him feel comfortable, relaxed and easier to concentrate.
The coffee shop that Tuyen often goes to is described as having a quiet, airy space with many windows that can capture natural light. According to Tuyen, this makes it easier to come up with more ideas during the study process and helps to quickly complete work without causing too much pressure.

“Coffee shops also often provide free wifi, have power outlets available, and a variety of drinks, which helps me work more efficiently and comfortably. I am willing to spend 40,000 - 60,000 VND each time I go out to “change the air” to be more productive at work,” Tuyen said.
Similarly, Nguyen Vu Thuy Tien (residing in Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) also often goes out to work and study.
Tien shared: “I find that working and studying at a coffee shop helps me gain more motivation and inspiration. When I see people around me concentrating on their work, I feel like I need to try harder. In addition, a coffee shop is also a very effective place to connect and learn from each other. Every month, I am willing to spend from 1 million VND to 1.5 million VND to study and work at a coffee shop.”

Coffee is more than just a beverage
According to Nguyen Le Sinh Hung - an employee of a coffee shop on O Cho Dua Street (Dong Da, Hanoi), the time from 1pm to 4pm and from 8pm to 10pm are the golden hours of the coffee shop, when the number of customers, mainly students and working people, is the highest to study and work.
“Normally, during this time there will be a significant number of customers, my shop can sell from 30 to 40 glasses of various drinks. I earn about 1.5 to 2 million VND/shift,” said Hung.
According to the assessment of some coffee shop owners operating in a model that combines relaxation space and study-work, this trend currently shows the strong development of the consumer economy, spending money on personal pleasures and hobbies such as coffee, drinks or entertainment activities has become an indispensable part of the lives of young people.
Coffee is not only a need for a drink but also a part of life experience. Besides, it is also an effective combination between entertainment and work.
Commenting on this phenomenon, Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, said that this is an interesting social phenomenon, reflecting changes in lifestyle, psychology and needs of the young generation in the new era.
The space in today's coffee shops is also focused on design to meet the diverse needs of customers.
