The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced decisions assigning enrollment targets for 10th grade high schools in the 2026-2027 school year.
According to Decision No. 1666/QD-SGDĐT, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training assigned 10th grade enrollment targets for the 2026-2027 school year to 124 public and high-quality public high schools with a total of 1,830 classes and 81,448 students.
In which, 123 public high schools were assigned 1,820 classes with 81,048 students (including 4 specialized schools with 78 classes, 2,370 students); 1 high-quality public high school was assigned 10 classes with 400 students.
According to Decision No. 1665/QD-SGDĐT, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training assigned enrollment targets to 89 private high schools with 817 classes and 34,059 students.
According to Decision No. 1664/QD-SGDĐT, 29 vocational education - continuing education centers are assigned 262 classes with 11,675 students.
Principals of units and schools are responsible for organizing enrollment according to assigned targets, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
In the 2026-2027 school year, the city will have 6 new high schools put into operation, expected to add more than 3,000 places, contributing to reducing the pressure of 10th grade enrollment.
In which, the public sector has 4 schools including: Hoang Quan Chi High School (Yen Hoa ward), Vinh Hung High School (Vinh Hung ward), Viet Hung High School (Dong Anh commune) and Xuan Khanh High School (Son Tay ward).
The private sector has 2 new schools expected to enroll this year: Tran Hung Dao High School (Vinh Tuy ward) and Edison High School (An Khanh commune).
The entrance exam to 10th grade of public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year will take place on May 30-31, candidates registering for specialized schools will take additional specialized subjects on June 1.
It is expected that from June 19 to 22, the Department will announce exam scores and 10th grade benchmark scores.
