On September 3, the Prime Minister signed a decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, to the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.
Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son was born in 1969, from Hung Yen. He graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1994, received a PhD in Control - Automation from Dresden University of Technical General Education, Germany in 1998.
Before being appointed as Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Hoang Minh Son worked at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, holding many positions, from lecturer of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Head of the training department; Vice Principal in charge of science and technology, postgraduate training, international training, communication and public relations to Principal of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (2015). By August 2020, he was the Chairman of the University Council.
In October 2020, Mr. Hoang Minh Son was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training until September 3, 2025, and was transferred and appointed to the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.
