Registration for the second round of competency assessment exam expires today

Today (April 25th) is the deadline for candidates to register for the 2nd round of competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

The second round of competency assessment exam is expected to take place on May 24, 2026 at 36 units in 9 provinces and cities including: Hue, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Dong Thap and An Giang. The results are expected to be announced on June 6, 2026.

Exam subjects are 12th grade high school students or equivalents; independent candidates who have completed the high school program but have not graduated or have graduated can register to take the exam. Candidates who have taken the first phase of the exam can also continue to register for the second phase to improve scores; higher results will be used for admission consideration.

Candidates register online at the exam information portal. To make the application valid, it is necessary to complete the creation of an account, fully declare personal information, contact information, academic history and register for exam locations before the deadline.

The exam fee is 360,000 VND/turn. Candidates can pay via QR code of the bank or e-wallets such as Viettel Money, FPT Pay, MoMo, Payoo.

Payment needs to be completed no later than April 26, which is one day after the registration ends. The paid fee will not be refunded in any case.

After completing registration, candidates log in to their account to check information and print exam notification papers.

Previously, phase 1 took place on April 5, 2026, recording more than 133,000 candidates taking the exam. The exam was organized in 15 provinces and cities with 57 exam clusters, 119 exam sites and nearly 10,000 invigilators.

According to statistics, the score distribution in phase 1 is in a near-standard distribution form, both average and mid-range scores reach 682 points, standard deviation 141.2. About 30% of candidates achieve below 600 points, 55% below 700 points and about 6% achieve from 900 points or higher. Valedictorian achieves 1,098 points.

Compared to 2025, this year's score distribution shifted slightly towards high scores, while the dispersion increased, showing a better ability to classify candidates.
