On the morning of July 1st, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores for 2026.
Accordingly, Geography subject recorded 56 exam papers achieving perfect scores, a decrease of about 99.2% compared to 6,907 perfect scores in 2025.

This year, there are 443,884 candidates taking the Geography exam. The average score reached 5.10, lower than the level of 6.63 in 2025, which is a decrease of 1.53 points.
The score level with the most candidates achieving is 6.0 points. Nationwide, there are 64,046 candidates achieving 7 points or higher, accounting for 14.43%, a sharp decrease compared to the rate of 45.27% of the previous year.
Conversely, the number of exam papers below average (under 5 points) reached 208,659, accounting for 47.01%, more than doubling the 18.69% of 2025.
Geography has 2 exam papers with a score of 0 and 102 papers achieving 1 point or less.
The score distribution in 2026 shows that most candidates achieved from 4 to 6 points, with the peak of the distribution concentrated at 6.0 points. Compared to 2025, the score distribution has clearly shifted towards the group of average and below average scores.



Comparing between localities, Ninh Binh continues to lead the country in average Geography scores with 5.63 points. Followed by Phu Tho (5.546 points), Hue City (5412 points), Ca Mau (5376 points) and Nghe An (5324 points). However, the average score of localities all decreased significantly compared to the previous year.
Dak Lak has the lowest average score in the country with 4.612 points. Only 14 provinces and cities have an average score higher than the national average of 5.101 points.
In terms of the number of perfect scores, Phu Tho leads the country with 6 exam papers achieving perfect scores, followed by Hanoi and Ninh Binh (both with 5 perfect scores). Cao Bang, Bac Ninh and Ha Tinh localities have 4 perfect scores; Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nghe An and An Giang have 3 perfect scores.



Comparing with 2025 shows a huge change in the high score group. Last year, Phu Tho led with 705 points 10, followed by Nghe An (557), Thanh Hoa (488), Ninh Binh (486) and Hanoi (435).
In 2026, the number of 10s in all localities will decrease sharply, of which the leading province will only have 6 10s, reflecting that the Geography score distribution this year is significantly lower than last year.
Mathematics and History lead in scores of 10
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Mathematics and History are the two subjects with the most perfect scores in the 2026 high school graduation exam.
Mathematics alone recorded 4,208 perfect scores, the highest among all subjects. History ranked second with 2,465 perfect scores.
Third place is Chemistry with 412 perfect scores.
Next is English 311 points 10
Physics 189 10 points
Biology 129 10 points
Geography 56 points 10.
The subjects Technology - Agriculture, Technology - Industry and Informatics have 44, 40 and 25 scores of 10 respectively.
While Economics and Law Education only had 2 perfect scores, Literature did not record perfect scores.
