Regulations on direct admission and priority admission at military schools in 2026

The Military Enrollment Board of the Ministry of National Defense has regulations guiding the admission to university and college military training in the regular system at military schools in 2026.

The Military Enrollment Board of the Ministry of National Defense has issued Guidance No. 2814/HD-TSQS on guiding the admission work for regular military university and college training at military schools in 2026.

Regulations on direct admission and priority admission subjects are as follows:

a) The group of candidates specified in Clause 1 and Points a, b Clause 2 Article 8 of the University Enrollment Regulations includes:

Labor Hero, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Soldier have graduated from high school.

Candidates who achieve high results in national or international-level exams and competitions, organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), are considered for direct admission to majors suitable for the exam subject and content of the winning topic; specifically in the following cases:

Candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in the national and international excellent student selection exams; the time of winning prizes does not exceed 3 years up to the time of direct admission consideration.

Candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in national and international science and technology exams organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, sent to participate and reach the input quality assurance threshold of the training program. The prize winning period does not exceed 3 years up to the time of direct admission. Military Technical Academy and Military Medical Academy do not directly admit these subjects.

b) The group of candidates specified in point c, clause 4, Article 8 of the University Enrollment Regulations is as follows:

Candidates belonging to 16 very small ethnic groups according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree No. 57/2017/ND-CP of the Government stipulating policies on prioritizing enrollment and learning support for preschool children, students, and ethnic minorities of very small people (including ethnic groups: Cong, Mang, Pu Peo, Si La, Co Lao, Bo Y, La Ha, Ngai, Chut, O Du, Brau, Ro Mam, Lo Lo, Lu, Pa Thien, La Hu) are considered for direct admission to schools training command and staff, technical command, politics, logistics. Military Technical Academy, Military Medical Academy, Military Science Academy, Military Technical Officer School, Air Force Officer School (military pilot training system) have not considered for direct admission to the above-mentioned subjects.

Standards:

Regarding academic performance, candidates meet the following criteria:

3 years of academic results (10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade) achieving good academic performance or higher, in which the average grade 12 subject score of 3 subjects according to the combination, candidates registering for direct admission must achieve good or higher.

The scores of the high school graduation exam subjects reach 6.5 points or higher (according to the 10-point scale).

Regarding conduct (training): Grading the conduct (training) of high school years or equivalent of candidates must be quite good or higher.

Admitted candidates must study additional knowledge for 1 academic year before officially entering school; the additional knowledge program is regulated by the Directors and Principals of schools.

c) Priority subjects for admission according to the provisions of Clause 5, Article 8 of the University Enrollment Regulations include:

General regulations:

Candidates specified in point a, clause 1, section I, part II of this Guide register for priority admission;

Candidates who win consolation prizes in the national excellent student selection exam and candidates who win prizes in the national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, who are sent to participate, are prioritized for admission according to training majors suitable for the exam subject or content of the contested topic and have won prizes; the time of winning prizes is no more than 3 years up to the time of admission consideration.

Separate regulations:

Military Technical Academy and Military Medical Academy do not prioritize admission for candidates who win prizes in science and technology competitions.
