In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to continue enrolling 10th grade students in the integrated English program according to Project 5695 at some high schools.
The number of students per class of the integrated English program is expected to be from 25 to 35 students. In case the number of students admitted and submitting admission applications is less than 25, the school will not open classes. Students who have submitted applications can be considered for transfer to study at another school with integrated program quotas or be considered for 10th grade admission according to three aspirations for regular 10th grade, or transfer to a suitable type of study.
Two groups of candidates
The enrollment target is students who have completed the secondary school program in the 2025-2026 school year in Ho Chi Minh City, within the prescribed age and belonging to one of the two groups.
Group 1: Students who have participated in the integrated English program according to Project 5695 from secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City.
Students must participate in the 10th grade high school entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City and be allowed to register 3 aspirations for high schools that teach this program.
The admission consideration is based on the 10th grade entrance exam score and the average score of the integrated English program according to Project 5695. The admission consideration score is calculated by the total score: Literature + Foreign Language + Mathematics + average score of the integrated English program (scale of 10 points).
Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated English program at secondary school level.
Students must have training and academic results for the whole year of grade 9 from good or higher, and participate in the 10th grade high school entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to 3 compulsory exam subjects, Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language, candidates must register and take an additional integrated English exam according to Project 5695.
The admission score is calculated by the total score: Literature + Foreign Language + Mathematics + integrated English exam score (10 points scale).
For both groups, only candidates who fully participated in the exams according to regulations, did not violate the exam regulations and did not have any exams with a score of 0 will be considered for admission.
According to the plan, students can register 3 aspirations for high schools that teach integrated English programs. After having the admission results, if the number of students submitting applications is not enough for the target, the Department of Education and Training may consider supplementary enrollment or organize supplementary entrance exams after the end of the school year.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has 10 high schools enrolling 10th grade integrated English programs, including: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Bui Thi Xuan High School, Luong The Vinh High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Saigon Practice High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Phu Nhuan High School and Nguyen Huu Huan High School.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to take place in early June with three compulsory subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language. Candidates can register a maximum of 3 aspirations for regular 10th grade at public high schools.
