Nearly 1 billion VND to support 4 new students in Lam Dong to overcome difficulties to go to class

LAM HỒNG |

Lam Dong - The "Lighting up the future" program has awarded nearly 1 billion VND in scholarships, supporting 4 new students in difficulty to firmly step into the classroom.

On September 15, the Association for the Protection of Poor and Disabled Patients and the Protection of Children's Rights of Lam Dong (Lam Dong Protection Association) coordinated with SOS Children's Village of Da Lat to organize the charity program Light Up the Future, awarding scholarships to 4 new students in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, Chairman of Lam Dong Association for sponsorship, said that the 4 new students receiving the scholarship this time include Bui Minh Hoang, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Duong Thi Khanh Dieu, and Ko Sa So Ry, all residing in Lam Dong province.

All 4 children are in difficult circumstances and have been adopted and raised by SOS Children's Village in Da Lat for many years.

Recently, all 4 students have achieved high results in their studies and passed the entrance exams to universities in Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City.

In which, Bui Minh Hoang was admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture; Nguyen Ngoc Anh was admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; Duong Thi Khanh Dieu was admitted to the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University); K Sa So Ry was admitted to Da Lat University.

However, the 4 students have finished high school, outside the support of SOS Children's Village of Da Lat, so the dream of teaching for the 4 new students is at risk of being missed.

To give 4 new students the opportunity to study, the Association of sponsors and SOS Children's Village of Da Lat organized a charity program to light up the future, calling on units, businesses, philanthropists and philanthropists to donate and support.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, Chairman of Lam Dong Support Association, said that after the campaign, the Future Lighting program received 969 million VND from sponsors, businesses, and philanthropists.

This amount was divided equally, giving each new student more than 242 million VND for the 4 students to pay tuition and other expenses throughout their studies.

"The scholarships from the Light Up the Future program have helped them continue on their educational path. This is also a great source of spiritual encouragement, lighting up faith and hope for children on their journey to conquer knowledge and create the future" - Mr. Tran Bao Long, Director of SOS Children's Village of Da Lat added.
