General Secretary To Lam: Education and training are a key driving force for national development
Students arrange a map of Vietnam, eat pho for 0 VND to welcome the opening ceremony
On the morning of September 5, teachers and students of Na Hy Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities (PTDTNT High School) (Na Hy Commune, Dien Bien Province) held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year in a special and proud atmosphere. Students - mostly children of ethnic minorities - all wore shirts printed with red flags with yellow stars and arranged on a map of the Fatherland of Vietnam, creating a solemn and sacred image.
The highlight of the ceremony also came from the "Pho yeu thuong" program, when all teachers and 440 students sat down to eat breakfast with hot "0 VND" pho bowls. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the concern and sharing of teachers and philanthropists, adding energy and spreading the warmth of teacher-student love on the opening day.

Immediately after the ceremony, the school summarized the campaign of "2,000 VND per day for education" and continued to launch the program of raising pigs economically in the new school year. At the same time, more than 207 thousand students at more than 480 schools and centers across Dien Bien province also happily attended the opening ceremony, joining in the opening atmosphere across the country. People in mountainous communes of Nghe An use boats to take students across the river to attend the opening ceremony
On September 5, in the opening atmosphere of the new school year, 486 students in Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong district, Nghe An) had to go to school by boat across Nam Non river because the flood at the end of July swept away the Xop Mat suspension bridge - the only bridge connecting 4 villages to the commune center. Traveling is extremely difficult, after crossing the river, students still have to walk nearly 7 km on a landslide, slippery road, which is potentially dangerous.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Principal of Luong Minh Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities said that out of a total of 486 students, about 160 students in the outlying villages have to depend on temporary boat trips. Each trip is very crowded, flowing on the river, causing parents and teachers to always worry about safety. The local government affirmed that this is only a temporary solution, in the immediate future, a dirt road will be opened and in the long term, a new bridge will be proposed to be built for people.

Despite the difficulties, the school's teachers and students are determined to enter the new school year with an optimistic spirit. Last school year, the school achieved excellent results and was commended by the Provincial People's Committee, becoming a great source of encouragement. The image of children taking a boat across the river, crossing mud to attend the opening ceremony is a vivid testament to the determination to overcome difficulties and the studious spirit of the children in the mountainous areas.
