The Vietnam Karate Team Wrestler won 2 silver medals at the opening day of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship in China (September 5). The achievements belong to national team players Nguyen Mai Quynh Anh (female individual kata, teenage group) and Bui Ngoc Nhi/Nguyen Mai Quynh Anh/Le Dinh Phuong Nghi/Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu (female kata team, teenage group).
Team player Nguyen Mai Quynh Anh lost to Sugino Reika (Japan) in the individual kata (performance) final, so she received a silver medal. Last year, Quynh Anh entered the final round of the 2024 Asian Youth Championship and she also won the runner-up position.
The 2025 Asian Youth Championship will be held in China until September 7. The Vietnamese karate team will continue to compete in many events for men and women against kata and kumite (resistance) according to the youth championship and U21 championship age groups.
With 2 silver medals, the Vietnamese karate team temporarily ranked 7th on the total medal table. The Thai and Malaysian teams are having the same achievements as us. The Japanese team temporarily leads with 6 gold medals.
