At around 12:00 on August 27, a serious fire broke out in Luot village, Ngoc Chien commune, Son La province.
The burned house was a 5-room stilt house made of po mu wood, with an area of over 100m2, built in 2018 by the family of Mr. Luong Van Luu, born in 1979.
According to the leader of Ngoc Chien commune, at the time of the fire, Mr. Luu's whole family was selling goods at a nearby store.
The fire started from the stairs and spread rapidly.
People in the village discovered the fire and tried to participate in extinguishing the fire. However, because the house was made of po mu wood and contained many flammable items, the fire quickly spread and completely burned down the house and all the assets inside.
The estimated damage is nearly 3 billion VND, including about 900 million VND in cash and all household items. The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
Immediately after the incident, the Ngoc Chien commune government coordinated with the police and militia to support the cleaning of the scene, and at the same time arranged temporary accommodation for the victim's family.
