Note for candidates registering for the second round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam
Round 2 of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's (VNU-HCM) competency assessment exam will take place on June 1, 2025.

According to Ho Chi Minh City National University, this year, more than 100 universities and colleges across the country have used the results of the competency assessment test to consider partial admission.
This year's Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test consists of 120 questions. In which, the Logic - Data Analysis and problem Solving section is restructured into the Scientific Thinking section, with 30 multiple-choice questions. The Language Use (Vietnamese and English) and Mathematics sections have increased the number of questions to 60 and 30 questions, respectively. Candidates have a total test time of 150 minutes. Parents with children entering grades 1 and 6 adjust early admission information before April 13
From April 4 to 13, parents whose children are preparing for grade 1 or grade 6 in Ho Chi Minh City can access the first-level admission information portal to review and adjust student information if necessary. The update includes entering content that needs to be edited and attached with evidence (birth certificate, residence information on VNEID). The school will verify and adjust if it is valid. After updating, parents must check and confirm the information.
From April 14 to 16, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will synthesize and send data to the Department of Education of Thu Duc City and districts to finalize the list of children entering grade 1 and students entering grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year.
From April 17 to 19, the People's Committees of localities will report the number of students to the city's enrollment steering committee. It is expected that all enrollment for grades 1 and 6 will be completed in June, nearly two months earlier than previous years. See more...
