Pension increase from July 1st, teachers hope for 8% adjustment to reduce pressure
Many teachers standing on the podium and retired teachers expressed their support for the pension increase plan of 8% from July 1, 2026, instead of increasing a fixed amount. According to them, the percentage increase will be more appropriate in the context of increasing living costs, helping to significantly improve monthly income, especially for those with an average pension of 7-10 million VND.

Reality shows that many retired teachers still have to work part-time to cover living expenses. Therefore, pension increases are considered practical support, helping to reduce financial pressure, especially for low-income people or those affected by the previous insurance contribution process. At the same time, many opinions also agreed with the proposal to raise the minimum pension level for people who retired before 1995 to about 3.8 million VND/month.
Besides the income factor, teachers believe that the pension adjustment also has the meaning of recognizing the contributions of the teaching staff. However, some teachers, especially at the preschool level, also expressed concern about health when the retirement age increases, hoping that policies will be adjusted to suit the specific characteristics of the profession.
