Parents eagerly await the free textbook set
The Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW requiring a unified set of textbooks (SGK) for general use nationwide from the 2026-2027 school year and moving towards free textbooks for all students from 2030. The Government has also assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to review and complete the general education program, enhancing the content of science, technology, and IT to prepare for this roadmap.
The new policy has received strong support from parents, because each school chooses many different sets of books, causing waste and inconvenience when students cannot reuse old books. Parents think that a unified textbook set will be more favorable, while the free textbook is a humane act, reducing the financial burden on the family.
Teachers and education experts also support this policy, but there is a concern that the big challenge is the compilation and unification of content from many current book series. Dr. Vu Thu Huong believes that the feasible solution is to gather experts to research and select the elite from both the new and old textbooks, and build the most suitable set of books. Although expensive, this is a worthy investment for the future of education. See more...
Reasons why the Multimedia Communication industry is not yet hot
Opening for more than two weeks, two schools in Ca Mau have no students
The two schools, Vo Van Kiet Primary School and Huong Duong Kindergarten in Buu 2 Hamlet, Dong Hai Commune, Ca Mau Province, and the Cultural House, have been invested with nearly 50 billion VND, completed since 2022, but so far there are no students attending. The reason is that the construction location is far from residential areas (more than 4km), surrounded mainly by shrimp ponds, making it difficult for parents to encourage students to go to school.
After 3 years of abandonment, the above works are overgrown with grass, but the infrastructure is still good and has not seriously degraded. The People's Committee of Dong Hai commune has submitted a proposal to convert the functions of two schools and the Cultural House into the commune's administrative center for effective use.

Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan directly inspected the field and requested relevant departments and branches to review, evaluate the needs of use, and advise appropriate solutions to promote the value of public assets, avoid loss, waste and negativity.
