These are Vo Van Kiet Primary School, Huong Duong Kindergarten, Buu 2 Hamlet Cultural House and technical infrastructure works under the Residential Area and Resettlement Project out of the forest of Bac Lieu province (old).
This is a project that Bac Lieu province decided to invest in 2014 in Bac Lieu city, Hoa Binh district, Dong Hai (old). The two locations of the school and the Cultural House of Buu 2 Hamlet were completed in 2022.
According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Dong Hai commune, the above projects have been fully invested in since 2022, but have not been effective due to their location far from residential areas (more than 4km), so it is difficult to encourage parents to send students to school.
Mr. Huynh Van Doi, 80 years old, Buu 2 hamlet, Dong Hai commune, said: The state has built this school for a long time, but no one comes here to study because the surrounding area is full of shrimp ponds, too far from the people.
Huong Duong Kindergarten is built with two blocks of houses, designed with one floor, including: block of 4 classrooms and multi-purpose building with a total area of 3,500m2 (70m x 50m). Of which, the construction area is 300.69m2 and the campus area is 2,624m2.
Vo Van Kiet Primary School is built with two blocks of houses, designed with 1 ground floor and 1 upper floor, including: Multi-purpose school building and the main hall block. Total area of 3,700m2 (74m x 50m). Of which, the construction area is 573.84m2, the campus area is 3,126.16m2.
The Cultural House and the water supply station have a total area of 1,500m2. Of which, the construction area of the Cultural House is 216m2; the station and water supply system is 300m2, the campus area is 984m2.
The project to build 2 schools and a Cultural House is part of the project of the Residential Area and Resettlement of Migration People out of the Forest. The total investment of the 3 projects is nearly 50 billion VND. Due to not using them for a long time, grass grows around them, but the classrooms are still very good.
The People's Committee of Dong Hai commune, Ca Mau province said that it has submitted a document requesting the policy of converting all the functions of the two schools and the above-mentioned Cultural House into the commune's administrative center.
On September 14, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan and departments and branches inspected the site. Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan suggested that Dong Hai Commune People's Committee accept the opinions of departments and branches to review and have reports to assess the needs of using Buu 2 Hamlet Resettlement Area as a basis for proposing to change the functions of the works; at the same time, have a plan to arrange and arrange working headquarters after converting functions accordingly, report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision as soon as possible.
Based on the proposal of the People's Committee of the commune, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Construction to review legal regulations and the practical situation of the locality, as a basis for advising and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and handle in accordance with regulations, in order to promote the effectiveness of management and use of public assets, preventing loss, waste, and negativity.
