Students stay in the city during Tet, both studying and working to worry about the future
Many students away from home choose to stay in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet instead of returning to their hometowns to reunite, in order to maintain their studies, work extra and be proactive in living expenses. For them, staying in the city is no longer a temporary decision but becomes part of the journey of self-reliance and growth.
Le Nguyen Thanh Thao, a 2nd year student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, has spent two years celebrating Tet away from home. In parallel with studying, Thao does many jobs such as tutoring, serving, cashier, filming - editing videos, writing content... to cover living expenses and accumulate skills, reducing the burden on her family.

Similarly, Luu Duc Hoang and Phan Thanh Khai, Veterinary students at Nong Lam University of Ho Chi Minh City, chose to stay for internships and work during Tet to accumulate experience, increase income and not interrupt their study plans. Although accepting the absence in their rented rooms, many students see this as a time to train themselves and prepare for the future. See more...

Year-end students focus on reviewing throughout Tet
Many 9th and 12th grade students have to narrow down their Tet fun plans to focus on preparing for the grade transfer and graduation exams. At Nguyen Trai Secondary School and Phenikaa Inter-level School, students actively make questions, system knowledge, practice writing and consolidate weak subjects to prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation.
For 12th grade students, the pressure is even greater when many top universities such as the National Economics University or Foreign Trade University reduce the quota for academic transcript review. Some students spend most of their break time practicing IELTS, SAT and advanced knowledge to increase competitive opportunities.
Teachers recommend that students review on a planned basis, avoid overload, and maintain health and balance between studying and resting. Representatives of Luong The Vinh Secondary & High School emphasized that final-grade students need to maintain a stable study schedule during the holidays, but still spend time with their families to regenerate energy before the acceleration phase.
