The 80-year mark of the education sector
After 80 years (1945 - 2025), Vietnamese education has gone through many challenging historical periods and achieved important achievements. From the "detective" movement, building an education for ethnic groups, science and the masses in the resistance war, to the unification of the national education system after 1975, the education sector has contributed to raising people's knowledge, training human resources, strengthening the strength of national unity, creating a foundation for the development of the country.
Since the Doi Moi project (1986), education has gradually overcome the crisis, perfected institutions, socialized and expanded its scale. In particular, in 2000, Vietnam completed phoising primary schools and eliminating illiteracy, then phoising junior high school and 5-year-old preschool. This period also marks the innovation of programs, methods, and technology applications, while promoting international cooperation and integration, bringing Vietnamese education closer to regional and international standards.
The period 2000 - 2025 witnessed many breakthroughs: perfecting the educational network from kindergarten to university, increasing the rate of students going to school at the right age, reducing drop drop out, linking vocational education with the labor market and expanding university autonomy. In 2017, Vietnam completed phoising preschool for 5-year-old children; in 2025, the first high school exam will take place according to the 2018 General Education Program. See more...

Opportunities for nearly 2,000 teachers in Lao Cai before the new school year
Lao Cai province is entering the 2025 - 2026 school year with more than 465,000 students in 1,040 educational institutions but is seriously lacking in teachers in many subjects, especially English, Chemistry, IT and Math. Many schools are forced to borrow or transfer teachers from other units, but attracting and retaining teachers for a long time in mountainous areas still faces many difficulties due to travel conditions, distance from family and working environment.

In the past 5 - 6 years, teacher recruitment in Lao Cai has become increasingly difficult, many subjects have not even had candidates registering. At one point, the province opened 1,200 quotas but only recruited 1/3, while the number of teachers reaching retirement age or quitting jobs was large. This situation makes the shortage of teachers increasingly serious, especially in schools in remote areas.
To overcome this, the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to sign 1,915 additional teacher contracts in the new school year, including 242 in preschool, 532 primary schools, 849 secondary schools and 292 high schools. The signing of additional contracts for nearly 2,000 teachers is expected to contribute to stabilizing the scale of schools and classes, ensuring the quality of teaching and learning for students across the province.
