Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao was born in 1977, and has been a professor since 2015. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 1999 from the University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
He then completed his PhD program at Laval University, Canada, majoring in Chemical Engineering in 2007. In the next phase, he continued his post-doctoral research at the Georgia Institute of Technology ( GaTech), USA from 2008 to 2010.
Before becoming Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao was Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Training and Testing, Hanoi National University.
Thus, Mr. Thao replaces his predecessor, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - who was also recently transferred and appointed to the position of Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training in early March.
Mr. Thao's term in office is 5 years.
