The talent admission method to Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2025 includes: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; based on international certificates; based on competency records combined with interviews.
For the group of admissions based on international certificates, candidates must have an average of 8 or higher in each year of high school and have at least 1 of the following international certificates valid at the time of registration: SAT, ACT, ALevel, AP and IB. For A-Level and AP certificates, only consider certificates with Math exam scores and 2 of the following subjects: Physics/C chemistry/Binh/Tin/Science/English.
The certificate score applied for admission is the total score of the Math subject and the 2 subjects with the highest remaining scores.
Candidates with VSTEP English certificate or IELTS international English certificate or equivalent (according to Hanoi University of Science and Technology) valid until the time of registration, with authentication registration on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology system will be added bonus points to the total certificate score.

The talent admission score of candidates registered under the international certificate scoring model is calculated as the total score of international certificates that candidates register on the system. If the XTTN score is ≥ 100 points, it will be reduced to 100 points.

With the group based on competency records, candidates need to have an annual academic average at high school levels of 8 or more, and meet one of the following requirements: the consolation prize or more in the exam for good students in math, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, foreign languages, provincial and university complexes; third prize in science and technology competitions from the provincial level or higher; Participate in the month of the contest to the Olympia Peak; A student of the above subjects.
The competency score is based on total academic performance, performance and reward points. In which, the maximum academic score is 40, the maximum score is 50 and the reward score is 10.
With the academic score, the school reviews the average of 6 semester, according to the combination of Mathematics, Literature and one of the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and News. In particular, the Mathematics has a factor of 3, Literature coefficient 1, the remaining factor 2.
Academic scores are calculated according to the formula:
[Math x 3 + Literature x 1 + Physics/C chemistry/Since/ tin x 2] x 4/6
With an achievement score, candidates are considered to have the highest achievement in a subject or a subject. Students will receive additional bonus points if they have other achievements in studying and scientific research, such as foreign language certificates, awards for talent, arts, sports, social activities, etc.
With a competency score of 55/100 or higher, candidates are allowed to enter the interview round.
The interview content assessed the contestants' knowledge of society in general, without testing their learning knowledge. The contents include: knowledge of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the program that candidates plan to enroll in, study plans if they are admitted, presentation skills, argumentation, persuasion, response and personal abilities.
The maximum interview score of candidates is 20. The minimum level that candidates need to achieve is 10. However, this score is not calculated together with academic performance and achievements.
Candidates who pass this round will be returned by Hanoi University of Science and Technology to use their ability profile scores, from high to low. Thus, if the interview score does not match, candidates will be eliminated no matter how high their application score is.
