On February 20, sharing about the announcement of the third exam subject in the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) said that this agency is urgently completing the draft enrollment plan for the first grades of the 2025-2026 school year, including 10th grade enrollment to submit to the City People's Committee.
Immediately after being approved by the City People's Committee, the plan will be widely informed to parents, students, teachers and schools.
The 10th grade admission work for the 2025-2026 school year in Hanoi continues to be conducted according to the entrance exam method with Chinese characters, math and the third exam subject. This subject will be announced at the end of February 2025.
Currently, grade 9 students at schools in Hanoi are seriously implementing the program of semester II for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
In lessons in class, subject teachers try to carefully teach the content, ensuring that students grasp basic and comprehensive knowledge and skills according to the set goals; at the same time, there are questions, exercises, and exam questions for students to consolidate and practice on their own.
Previously, at the end of August 2024, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the format and sample exam questions for the subjects: Math, language, English, history and geography, natural sciences, IT, and citizen education; at the same time, it was affirmed that this is the basis for building a bank for questions and issuing 10th grade exam questions according to the 2018 General Education Program.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested that secondary schools direct professional groups to research and apply exam format structures suitable for each subject for grade 9 students to get acquainted with.
Schools increase the construction of a question bank and a test matrix according to the requirements of the subject program; encourage the construction of a digital library for testing and surveying topics, share with educational institutions in the area in the spirit of exchanging and supporting the effective implementation of testing and evaluation methods and forms.
Currently, over 40 provinces and cities have announced the third exam subject for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, in which most localities choose the third exam subject as foreign language or English; only 2 localities choose the third exam subject as a combination of history and geography.
