The Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong province requests the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities to notify and direct secondary schools and educational institutions with lower secondary level under their management to disseminate to all students, parents and teachers.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the 3 entrance exams for grade 10 of public high schools in Hai Duong are Math, Literature and English.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 30/TT-BGDDT on the Regulations on Secondary School and High School Admissions. According to the new regulations, there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10, including: Entrance exam, selection or a combination of entrance exam and selection. The selection of admission methods is under the authority of the locality.
The notable new point is that the same third exam subject cannot be chosen for more than 3 consecutive years, starting from the date this circular takes effect.
Regarding the examination method, to ensure consistency and ensure the viewpoint of a light and inexpensive exam, the Circular generally stipulates the implementation of 3 subjects and exams, including: Math, Literature and a third subject or exam selected by the Department of Education and Training.
Regarding the entrance exam method, the Circular stipulates that the time for the Literature exam is 120 minutes; for Math, 90 minutes or 120 minutes; for the third exam, 60 minutes or 90 minutes; for the combined exam, 90 minutes or 120 minutes. The exam content is within the secondary school education program, focusing on grade 9.
The Circular provides general regulations on the implementation of 3 subjects and exams, including: Math, Literature and a third subject or exam selected by the Department of Education and Training.
Also according to the circular, the admission score to grade 10 high school is the total score of the subjects and exams calculated on a 10-point scale for each subject and exam.
In previous years, the Department of Education and Training consulted the Provincial People's Committee to decide on the admission method, the number of subjects (if admission is by examination), and the method of calculating the admission score. Many provinces and cities doubled the Math and Literature exam scores when calculating the admission score for grade 10.
