From January 31, the laughter of students has officially echoed in the new campus of Si Pa Phin Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School, Si Pa Phin commune, Dien Bien province.
In the midst of remote border hills, the spacious school appears as a special milestone, the first completed project in the campaign to build 248 schools in border areas according to the policy of the Politburo.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dup - Principal of the school, the school currently has 563 students, of which 401 are boarding students.
Started at the end of July 2025, the project is built on an area of 6.88ha. On a border land, the school is designed inspired by traditional stilt houses, both close to local culture and with a modern and synchronous appearance.
According to the design, the school meets the learning and accommodation needs of more than 1,000 students. The learning area includes 31 standard classrooms, 14 subject rooms, and functional spaces such as an educational equipment room, a music room, a STEM room, a school counseling room and a library.
The dormitory and office building are also invested methodically with 120 rooms for students, 15 office rooms for teachers, and items such as multi-purpose rooms, cultural houses, football fields, swimming pools, kitchens, and standard restrooms.
Not only stopping at facilities, the school also quickly caught up with the requirements of education innovation.
On March 16, Si Pa Phin Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School opened the "STEM and AI classroom use training" program for teachers from grades 1 to 8. In a land with many difficulties, bringing STEM and AI into the teaching environment shows efforts to shorten the educational gap between mountainous and lowland areas.

According to school leaders, although there are still some time-sensitive difficulties, the new school's operation is still a very noteworthy milestone, opening up better learning and living conditions for students in border areas that are still lacking.
Not only in Si Pa Phin, in Dien Bien, the Muong Nha Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School project, Sam Mun commune is also being urgently implemented.
Currently, about 80% of households with land within the project area have received advance payments and handed over the site to the construction unit. The total volume of the entire project is currently estimated at about 32%.
Along with Dien Bien, in the border communes of Lang Son province, many inter-level ethnic minority boarding schools for primary and secondary schools are also moving day by day. At Khuat Xa Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School, all 8/8 main items have been implemented simultaneously.
The primary school classroom building has completed the foundation and columns of the 1st floor and is preparing to construct the 2nd floor beams. The secondary school classroom building is preparing to enter the 3rd floor beam construction phase. The dormitory, administrative building, and teacher dormitory items are also closely following the progress.
At Kien Moc Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School, many construction fronts are being maintained simultaneously. Teachers' dormitories have been concreted with roofs; theoretical buildings, department buildings, dormitories and dining rooms continue to be deployed in stages. The volume of soil excavation for the entire project currently reaches about 270,000/280,000m3.
Meanwhile, the project of the Mau Son commune inter-level primary and secondary school has basically completed site clearance on an area of about 6.99ha, the volume of leveling has reached about 90%. All 12/12 main buildings have been started construction.
With the Quoc Khanh Inter-level Ethnic Minority Boarding School project, site clearance is also basically completed on an area of 6.66ha, the volume of leveling has reached about 85%; currently, 11/15 building blocks are eligible for construction.
Notably, in Na Lam village, Dong Dang commune, Lang Son province, the groundbreaking ceremony of Dong Dang Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School was also ready to take place on the morning of March 19.
This is not only an important milestone for Lang Son alone, but also a highlight in the simultaneous groundbreaking of boarding schools in the remaining border communes across the country on March 19.
An Giang: Ensuring 3 schools started construction in 2025 will be completed before August 30, 2026
Phase 2, An Giang has 6 inter-level boarding general education schools for primary and secondary school (THCS) implemented in the mainland border communes: Ba Chuc, Vinh Dieu, Vinh Xuong, An Phu, Phu Huu and Nhon Hoi.
Investment preparation work is carried out actively. The investor coordinates with localities to complete procedures for adjusting construction planning and preparing detailed plans; geological and topographic surveys. Propaganda and mobilization for site clearance in localities have received high consensus from people in the project area.
Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy requested departments, branches and localities to proactively complete legal documents, determine land locations and compensation plans while waiting for special mechanisms from the Ministry of Education and Training.
In addition, investors must develop detailed construction plans to ensure that 3 schools (started on November 9, 2025) including: Giang Thanh Primary - Secondary Inter-level Boarding School (Gang Thanh commune); Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Khanh Binh commune) and Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Inter-level Boarding School (Vinh Gia commune) are completed before August 30 to be ready for the opening of the new school year.
Da Nang: Decisively resolve site clearance to meet progress
On March 18, according to a report by the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works of Da Nang City, investment preparation procedures for 6 projects of Inter-level Boarding Schools (PTNTLC) in border communes have been basically completed.
Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that these are key projects with great social security significance, aimed at improving learning conditions for students in border areas.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested to urgently resolve compensation and resettlement support definitively. The Land Fund Development Center must closely review and report to the city to immediately handle arising situations.
In particular, city leaders requested units not to have a mentality of "waiting" for stone sources (expected to be available in the middle of next week). Instead, they must proactively deploy immediately the tasks that can be performed to take advantage of the time.
Localities and related units need to focus highly and proactively remove difficulties. Contractors must mobilize maximum manpower and equipment, and organize serious construction to ensure the committed progress," Mr. Tran Anh Tuan emphasized.
Among the projects that have been started, currently, the project in La Eee commune is recording the most positive progress when it has completed 100% of site clearance work (47 land plots) and is urgently constructing the foundation of the administration block and classroom blocks.
The A Vuong PTNTLC TH-THCS School project has a total investment of more than 344.7 billion VND, although the dismantling of the old building has been completed, there are still about 4,548 m2 of land that has not been completed for site clearance, causing important items such as student dormitories, official houses and multi-purpose houses to be stalled.
At Tay Giang PTNTLC TH-THCS School, although the classroom block has reached 70% of the foundation, the dormitory area is about one month behind schedule. The reason is determined to be that the contractor has not mobilized enough human resources as committed.
Meanwhile, in Dak Pring and La Dee communes, although the ground has basically stabilized, there is currently a shortage of construction sand and unfavorable weather.
Da Nang City leaders requested the investor and the Project Management Board to strengthen supervision and urge contractors at all school sites, strive to put the works into use according to plan, and soon stabilize schools for children of highland people.
The project of 6 boarding schools in border areas has a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND, expected to meet the learning needs of 4,800 students.
