On March 17, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee informed that the locality plans to start construction of Ban Lau Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School (Ban Lau commune) on March 19.
This is the 5th Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School to be started construction in the area.
The investment project to build Ban Lau Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School has a new construction scale of classroom buildings, administration buildings, multi-purpose buildings, cultural houses, student dormitories, teacher dormitories, bridge houses, and kitchens.
In addition, there are items such as school entrance roads, exterior, technical infrastructure, fire prevention and fighting, auxiliary items and school equipment to ensure meeting the operating needs of about 28 classes (12 primary schools, 16 secondary schools) with a total of about 980 students. The school is built on an area of nearly 50,000 m2, with a total investment of 230 billion VND.
Previously, in November 2025, Lao Cai province organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 4 inter-level boarding schools for primary and secondary schools in the border communes of A Mu Sung, Y Ty, Muong Khuong and Pha Long.




The projects of Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Y Ty Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Y Ty commune), Pha Long Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Pha Long commune), A Mu Sung Primary and Secondary Boarding School (A Mu Sung commune) are invested synchronously with classroom blocks, dormitories, multi-purpose buildings, libraries, kitchens, technical infrastructure... with a scale of 28 to 36 classrooms.
The dormitory area for students from 123 to 158 closed rooms serves from 980 to more than 1,200 students per school; the 3-story teacher dormitory area from 18 to 28 rooms per school... The campus of each school ensures a land area of 5.4 - 8.2 ha; the design is aimed at synchronization, modernity, but still flexible to adapt to the terrain and climate of each region.
The total investment of the 4 schools is 945 billion VND from the central budget, provincial budget and other legally mobilized capital sources. The projects were started with a construction time of 9 months, striving to be completed before August 30, 2026.
