The incident occurred at the old facility of Thai Hoa High School located on DT 747B road in Tan Khanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen city, Binh Duong province).
At the end of July 2022, Thai Hoa High School inaugurated a new campus 1 km from the old campus. After the school moved to a new facility, the old facility has been abandoned until now. A high school with 3 rows of 3-storey buildings abandoned in the middle of an increasingly developing urban area.
According to the reporter, after more than 2 years of abandonment, the school space is deserted. The overgrown grass yard is a temporary parking space for a few local cars. Fire protection items are damaged, stone benches are also broken.
Seeing the facility abandoned for a long time without any work, a household brought ducks and chickens into the school to graze.

About 20 classrooms are left empty, with tables and chairs stacked on top of each other, and the dust is getting thicker. Learning tools are still usable, but due to long periods of abandonment, they are gradually deteriorating and breaking down.
The incident of a spacious and equipped educational institution being abandoned for a long time made people feel sorry.
"I am a resident of Tan Dong Hiep ward, living near Thai Hoa High School. Before, this place was crowded with students and very vibrant. However, the school has been abandoned for nearly 2 years. I read the newspaper and saw that in Tan Dong Hiep ward, children still have to sit and study in a corrugated iron room. However, the high school here is still quite spacious and left unused, which is a waste," said Mr. Dang Quoc Chung (name changed, 42 years old, living in Tan Dong Hiep ward).

This facility was previously located in Thai Hoa ward. From July 1, part of Thai Hoa ward will be merged into Tan Khanh ward. This facility is currently under the management of Tan Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Currently, the People's Council and People's Committee of Tan Khanh Ward are reviewing and finding directions to reuse the facilities of the old Thai Hoa High School.
