This morning (July 29), Ha Long City held a ceremony to attach the project plaque to celebrate the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Ninh Province, term 2024-2029, for the new construction project of Ngo Quyen High School.
The new Ngo Quyen High School started construction in September 2023, on an area of 3.45 hectares in Ha Khanh Ward, about 2 km from the old school.
The new school consists of two 4-story classroom buildings, one 4-story administrative building, a 1-story multifunctional building, and auxiliary facilities such as parking, yard, gate, fence, guardhouse, internal roads, physical training ground, green trees... with a total investment of 147.7 billion VND, of which Quang Ninh provincial budget supports 109 billion VND.
The new school meets the needs of about 1,080 students, equivalent to 24 theoretical classrooms and specialized subject rooms, library, multifunctional room. After 2030, it is expected to expand the scale (build an additional block according to the plan) to meet the development needs of the school when needed.
According to the investor, currently, most of the school's items have been basically completed, ready to be put into operation on the occasion of the new school year 2024-2025.
This is also the second school in Ha Long City built under the project to invest in 30 high-quality public schools, including 22 high schools in Quang Ninh, for the period 2022-2025.
Previously, Ha Long City also inaugurated and put Quang La Secondary & High School into operation on the occasion of the new school year 2023-2024.
With the goal of further improving the quality of education and training, narrowing the educational gap between regions, in the period 2022-2025, Quang Ninh province is interested in supporting and investing in 30 schools to ensure the goal of each district having one public school meeting high-quality criteria at each level of general education; each city and town having one high-quality public high school.
This is a specific action, affirming the determination to achieve the breakthrough goal in human resource development, narrowing the educational gap between regions in the province according to the goal set by the 15th Provincial Party Congress Resolution.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Quang Ninh has inaugurated and put into use high schools: Binh Lieu, Cam Pha, Quang La... In addition, other projects continue to be built such as Tran Phu High School (Mong Cai), Ngo Quyen High School (Ha Long), Uong Bi High School (Uong Bi); Hai Ha Secondary School (Hai Ha), Dong Ngu I Primary School (Tien Yen), Dong Tien Primary School (Co To)...
The new school construction projects all have large capital, mobilized from district budget sources and supported by the provincial budget.
The expansion and new construction project of Cam Pha High School, put into use from September 2023, has a total investment of 289 billion VND, of which Quang Ninh provincial budget supports 170 billion VND, the rest from Cam Pha City budget.
The new Binh Lieu High School, also inaugurated before the new school year 2023-2024, has a total investment of 95 billion VND from the Quang Ninh provincial budget support and other legally mobilized sources.
The new construction project of Quang La Secondary & High School has a total investment of 197.5 billion VND, partly from the provincial budget support and the balanced budget of Ha Long City.
