According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, students at the exam site of Tuyen Quang Specialized High School (Tuyen Quang) are still allowed to register for university admission aspirations. This makes many people question whether it will reduce the chances of admission for other candidates?
Regarding this concern, on July 15, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao - Director of the Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education and Training - said that regarding the incident at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, Minister Hoang Minh Son regularly monitored and directed, emphasizing that the handling must simultaneously ensure two principles: Maintaining strict discipline, ensuring the strictness and fairness of the exam; and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of candidates in accordance with the law.
Mr. Thao said that it is necessary to clearly distinguish the rights of students to register for admission, and the responsibility of students to strictly comply with the exam regulations and admission regulations as well as relevant laws.
Currently, functional agencies are urgently investigating, verifying and clarifying the case. While there is no conclusion from competent authorities for each candidate, students at this exam site are still allowed to register for admission according to the general plan. In case later it is determined that any candidate violates the exam regulations or admission regulations, that candidate will be handled according to regulations, corresponding to the nature and severity of the violation" - Mr. Thao emphasized.
Mr. Thao affirmed that the registration of aspirations is only to record the right to participate in admission consideration; does not generate a passing quota, does not retain a place at a university and does not reduce the school's quota.
While waiting for the conclusion of the competent authority, the registration for admission of candidates at this exam site itself does not affect other candidates. The Ministry of Education and Training also reminds universities to closely coordinate in admission work, and have mechanisms to avoid affecting the rights of other candidates.
When there is an official conclusion in the process of reviewing registration dossiers, admission, and virtual filtering and detecting violators, they will be strictly handled; invalid results cannot be used as a basis for recognizing admission; and at the same time, the legitimate rights of candidates who do not violate must be ensured. Violations that have been admitted or are still studying at university will still be handled according to the law" - Mr. Thao said.
