2025 is the first year that the high school graduation exam is organized according to the 2018 General Education Program, with many innovations in form and content.
The subjects are all aimed at developing capacity, enhancing practicality, requiring students not only to grasp knowledge but also to flexibly apply it to specific situations.
This has caused the pressure on 12th graders to review for the exam to increase significantly. At the end of the exam, many students have planned to relax.
Some students choose to go back to their hometown to visit their grandparents, travel with family or friends, while many students want to spend time on activities that are put on hold throughout the school year such as painting, playing sports, or participating in charity activities, etc.
Previously, my best friend and her classmates had planned to travel somewhere after the exam, maybe Nha Trang or Da Lat. For the past year, we have only focused on work and extra classes, so now is the time to reward ourselves with a true vacation, Minh Anh, a student at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, shared.
Quynh Nhu, a student at Le Quy Don High School, said she will rest at home for a few days to regain her balance after a series of stressful days of studying, then return to her hometown to visit her grandparents.
"In time for the recent Tet holiday, due to my school schedule, I could not return to my hometown. I really miss my grandparents," Quynh Nhu expressed.
Ms. Le Thu Hang, a parent of a student in District 3, shared that she strongly agrees with taking her child on a trip and relaxing after the exam.
"I see my children studying stressed all year round, so I really support them to go out for a few days. After that, the family will discuss with their children the next direction, choosing a major, choosing a school," Ms. Hang confided.
According to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the high school graduation exam scores will be announced on the morning of July 16. After that, candidates will enter the process of registering for university admission wishes.
The 2025 high school graduation exam takes place over 2 days, June 26-27, with more than 1.1 million candidates nationwide participating.
Ho Chi Minh City alone has 99,578 candidates registered for the exam, an increase of 8,891 candidates compared to the previous year. Of which, 97,940 candidates took the exam under the 2018 General Education Program and 1,638 candidates under the 2006 General Education Program.
