The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Hanoi took place on June 7 - 8 with 3 exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language. In which, Math and Literature will take the essay test (120 minutes), Foreign language will take the multiple-choice test (60 minutes).
Candidates taking the specialized exam will take a specialized subject on June 9, for 150 minutes. This year is the first year of the 10th grade exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
In the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi is expected to have nearly 104,000 candidates registering to take the exam. The city has 210 exam locations with more than 4,500 exam rooms.
According to the plan, at exactly 9:00 a.m. on June 6, all candidates were present at the exam room to complete the exam procedures.
During the examination procedure, candidates must present the examination sheet in grade 10 of the high school year 2025-2026 (with student photos and stamp the border of the educational institution, or the Department of Education and Training - for free candidates), or identity cards/citizenship cards. If the candidate has lost the exam report, there must be a commitment according to the prescribed of the exam score.
At this exam preparation session, the exam scores will organize the study of regulations for all candidates, in which candidates are reminded of Article 21 ( candidate responsibility) and Article 57 ( handling candidates who violate exam regulations).
Candidates will also hear about the exam schedule, regulations on drum command signs; instructions on exam room diagrams; hear about how to do foreign language tests, how to record information on multiple-choice answers; how to draw license plates, how to draw exam codes...
Candidates should note that the admission score formula for high school 10 and high school 10 has different scores.
Mass admission scores for grade 10 = Math exam scores + Language test scores + Foreign language test scores + Priority scores (if any) + Encouragement scores (if any).
In the formula for calculating the admission score in 10th grade, the Math test score, the test score of Literature and the score of the Foreign Language exam are calculated coefficient 1 (every year calculating factor 2).
Admission score for grade 10 major = Total score for non-professional exams, including math, literature, foreign languages (coefficient 1) + Score for major exams (coefficient 2).
With the formula for calculating admission scores for grade 10 specialties, the score for the non-professional subject is coefficient 1, while the score for the specialized subject is coefficient 2.
Candidates also need to pay attention to the admission principles of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) when participating in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, the department only considers admission for students who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all the exams according to regulations, do not violate the exam regulations to the extent of canceling the exam results and all exams have scores greater than 2.
Students who are admitted to the first wish list will not be admitted to the second wish list.
Students who do not pass the 1st wish list will be considered for the 2nd wish list but must have an admission score at least 1 point higher than the school's 1st wish list. When the benchmark is lowered, schools are allowed to admit students with high hopes who are eligible for admission.
This year, the rate of public grade 10 enrollment targets reached 64%, an increase of 3% compared to last year. In accordance with the regulations in the exam regulations, Hanoi will announce the exam scores and admission admission scores at the same time.
It is expected that no later than July 6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the benchmark scores of high schools.
