Previously, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City announced additional enrollment quotas for 37 public high schools in Area 1 for the 2025-2026 school year.

To participate in additional admission, students must meet the following conditions: have passed the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year in Area 1 of Ho Chi Minh City and have not passed any entrance exam for public high schools, with a total entrance exam score of 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority and encouragement scores (if any) greater than or equal to the 1 standard wish point of the public high school that wishes to register for admission.
Students who need additional admission will submit their application directly to a high school that is lacking quotas (not allowed to change schools when they have submitted their application).
The documents include a report on the results of the 10th entrance exam issued by the secondary school where the student registered for the exam.
In case the number of successful candidates exceeds the remaining quota (due to many candidates having the same score), the school's admission council will adjust the number of successful candidates in the spirit of the number of successful candidates not exceeding the assigned quota.
The Department of Education and Training notes that schools do not accept students exceeding the enrollment quota.
Cases exceeding the admission quota will not be resolved; candidates will not be accepted for additional admission after 4:00 p.m. on August 11. Candidates participating in the admission must have their names on the exam management system of the Department of Education and Training.
The Admissions Council must be responsible for additional admission conditions and ensure valid documents.
On August 8, schools will announce the list of candidates who are eligible for additional admission, and at the same time organize the reception of candidates.
