The "run" classes

The "running" class is a method of teaching and learning being applied by many high schools in Ho Chi Minh City in this school year. According to this model, in addition to compulsory subjects, students will move between classes to study buffet according to their preferences. Each student can register 2-3 options to suit personal aspirations, thereby forming flexible subject complexes, helping them to be more proactive in career orientation and capacity development.

This model is being implemented at some high schools such as Ba Diem (Hoc Mon District), Vo Truong Toan, Truong Chinh (District 12), Ten Lo Man (District 1), Le Hong Phong (District 5), .. These are all schools that perform teaching 2 sessions/day.

At Lo Lo Man High School (District 1), Mr. Nguyen Hung Khuong - Principal said that this school year, the unit did not build the selected subject complexes as previous years that students could choose 2-3 subjects according to their interests, competencies and aspirations. This change helps students be more active when determining the learning roadmap for 3 years of high school.

"The high school graduation exam in 2025 has 4 subjects, of which 2 Maths and Literature subjects are required, the remaining 2 students choose their own, so the school builds 3 groups of combination groups: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and combined groups, ... In which, each combination will ensure 3 traditional exams for admission to universities. This helps students have a variety of universities, Mr. Khuong shares admission to the university."

For good exams, it is necessary to organize teaching and learning well

At the Conference on training regulations and operations to organize high school graduation exams in 2025 recently held in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that this year the guiding document was promulgated by the Ministry early so that the provinces can take the initiative and provide adequate instructions to facilitate localities in the implementation process. However, it is impossible to cover all detailed issues but the spirit of organizing the examination of pressure, reducing expensive, safe, serious, fair, effective and in accordance with regulations.

Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized that in order for the high school graduation exam to achieve good results, first of all need to organize teaching and learning effectively. "This is the responsibility of the school. If the student is weak, the reason is that the organization of the main program is ineffective. It is impossible to take Circular 29 as a reason for the decrease in the exam results. It is necessary to teach on time, innovate methods, classify students to support appropriate support, avoid teaching in the same way," Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said.

Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong asked the schools to organize a mock exam with the spirit of "Testing but evaluating real" to classify and supplement the missing skills for students, and draw experience from previous exams to propose appropriate solutions.

He also emphasized the role of local media, especially the new score of the exam for students, parents and teachers to understand. "The exam is the secret, violations may be criminally handled and need to be propagated for students to avoid violations," Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong noted.
