More than 12,400 preschool children in the highlands of Lao Cai are entitled to support policies

Lao Cai - More than 12,400 children aged 3 to 5 in 42 communes in the area are entitled to support policies in the 2025 - 2026 school year.

On August 24, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee informed that the unit has approved the list of children aged 3 to 5 entitled to support policies according to Decree No. 277/2025/ND-CP in 42 communes in the area.

According to the decision, there are 123 preschool education institutions in 42 communes with children aged 3 to 5 who are eligible for policies.

Among these, 9,381 children are supported with lunch money at a rate of 360,000 VND/child/month. The policy benefit period in the 2025 - 2026 school year is no more than 7 months, as Decree No. 277/2025/ND-CP takes effect from October 20, 2025.

In addition, 3,045 children are supported with tuition fees at a rate of 150,000 VND/child/month.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the policy of supporting lunch money and tuition fees is expected to contribute to reducing the cost burden for families, and at the same time create conditions for preschool children, especially in difficult areas, to go to school fully.

The People's Committees of the communes named in the list are responsible for notifying the approved results to relevant preschool education institutions.

At the same time, direct educational institutions to implement the payment of support funds to children to the right subjects and in accordance with regulations.
