On the morning of August 24, 2026, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association convened the Conference of the Executive Committee of the X term (2020-2025).
In addition to members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association term X, the conference was also attended by representatives of: the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central organizations; the Central Organization Committee; the Department of Culture and Arts - Central Propaganda Department; the Inspection and Examination Committee and the Mass Mobilization Work Committee - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The meeting aims to review, consider, and discipline poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association, according to regulations and assign people to manage the Association's activities until the title of Chairman is consolidated.
The Executive Committee discussed and approved the results by secret ballot as follows:
Dismissal of the title of Chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association term X (2020-2025) for poet Nguyen Quang Thieu.
At the same time, assigning writer Nguyen Binh Phuong - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association term X to be in charge of operating activities of the Vietnam Writers' Association during the time when the title of Chairman of the Association has not been consolidated.
