On October 13, according to information from the Office of the People's Committee of Son La province, the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision on assigning investors to investment projects to build grassroots primary and secondary Boarding Schools in border communes, with a total estimated investment of more than VND 2,800 billion.
According to the decision, the projects will be implemented in 13 border communes including: Phieng Khoai, Xuan Nha, Long Sap, Muong leo, Chieng Khuong, Phieng Pan, Sop Cop, Muong Lan, Long Phieng, Chieng Son, Yen Son, Muong Hung and Chieng Khoong.
The projects have an average scale of 30 classes, about 1,000 students, and will be completely rebuilt in the period of 2025 - 2026. The capital is implemented from the central budget and other legal sources.
The project investors are assigned to many units including: Son La Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command, Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Civil, Industrial and Urban Development Works, and Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Agricultural and Rural Development Works.
The People's Committee of Son La province requires the units assigned as investors to urgently complete procedures, ensure progress and quality of the project; departments, branches and local authorities where the project is implemented must coordinate closely and comply with legal regulations.
When completed, this inter-level boarding school system will contribute significantly to improving the quality of education in border areas, creating stable learning and living conditions for ethnic minority children, while at the same time being associated with the goal of socio-economic development and maintaining security in the border area of Son La province.
