Ho Chi Minh City - Tan Chanh Hiep Park, once completed, is expected to create a space for community activities, increase green land funds and improve the landscape of the area.

On the morning of October 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tan Chanh Hiep Park construction project (Tan Chanh Hiep fish pond area), Trung My Tay ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Dau An Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that the Tan Chanh Hiep Park project is a long-standing wish of the local government and people, because previously this area was a low-lying, flooded area, with potential dangers and environmental pollution. The formation of the park not only creates a space for living and playing, but also contributes to improving the landscape and quality of life for people.

"We are determined to work with relevant units to speed up the progress, striving to complete it before the Lunar New Year to inaugurate and serve people to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet," Mr. Phuc emphasized.

Sharing about the project, Mr. Nguyen Huu Loan, a resident living near the Tan Chanh Hiep fish pond, expressed his joy: Previously this place was a prison pond, with stagnant water and many mosquitoes. Now that the park is a beautiful and clean place, there is space for children to play and adults to walk for exercise. Everyone here hopes to see the park completed soon.

Mr. Le Van Hung, another household, also believes that renovating the pond area into a park is "the desire of the people", making the urban appearance more spacious and contributing to reducing flooding during the rainy season.

The project has a total area of nearly 1.7 hectares, deployed to form a green space, contributing to increasing green land funds and creating urban beauty for the area. The project is also expected to be a community and sports activity spot for people in Trung My Tay ward and neighboring areas.

According to the plan, the park will include a central yard, children's playground, multi-purpose yard with an area of over 3,400 m2; public works such as rest houses, flower beds, roofs, toilets... and an internal road system of about 2,240 m2. In addition, the project will plant trees, grass and ornamental plants of more than 11,200 m2, installing automatic irrigation systems, drainage, decorative lights and entertainment and exercise equipment.

The design idea of Tan Chanh Hiep Park is inspired by the image of "rice seeds", expressed through the elip on the paintings, associated with the image of diligent and united people.

The project has a total investment of more than 27.68 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget. The project belongs to group C, expected to be constructed from October 2025 to April 2026. The first phase is expected to be completed on the occasion of the traditional New Year 2026, contributing to creating a new living space, entertainment and culture for the people of the area.
