On September 19, according to data from the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Hue City, the whole city is currently short of 680 teachers. Of which, the most lacking are primary schools with 307 teachers; preschools with 218 teachers and high schools with 156 teachers. The shortage of teachers occurs in many communes and wards.
According to Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hue City Nguyen Tan, the reason for this situation is that in recent years, the city's education and training sector has not been assigned recruitment targets.
To overcome the above situation, in the 2025 - 2026 school year, the Hue City education sector plans to recruit 145 teachers at all levels. Including 79 targets for Grade III preschool teachers, 52 Grade III primary school teachers, 12 Grade III secondary school teachers and 2 Grade III high school teachers.
Candidates must meet the prescribed professional qualifications, be able to apply information technology and use foreign languages or ethnic minority languages as required. The recruitment exam is organized in the form of an entrance exam, including 2 rounds: general knowledge multiple choice test (round 1) and professional knowledge and skills test (round 2).
The Department of Education and Training agreed to maintain the status quo of educational institutions according to the direction of the Central and the Government. In 2025, the Department will not resolve the wish for teacher transfers; the transfer and secondment of teachers will be carried out flexibly according to actual needs, prioritizing the quality of teaching.
Team data is transferred to communes and wards to base on appropriate teacher regulation. Principals of schools are responsible for proposing the transfer of seconded teachers, teaching inter-schools, and at the same time creating favorable conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind.
Regarding the addition of staff, based on the results of the review and assigned targets, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to organize recruitment, prioritizing subjects with a shortage of teachers. The remaining missing cases will be compiled and submitted to the City People's Council for contract approval according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP.
