On July 10, the working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc had a working session with the People's Committee of Hung Yen province to discuss the development plan of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, including a plan to build a new campus according to the smart university model.
Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy is currently a public service unit under the Ministry of Health, with a reputation for training medical human resources and scientific research. The school is training more than 7,000 domestic and international students. Thai Binh University of Medicine Hospital under the school plays the role of a practice, internship and medical examination and treatment facility, with modern investment and a team of highly qualified lecturers and doctors.
At the meeting, delegates discussed the plan to build a new school facility, expected in Hung Yen province (Tran Lam ward), according to the orientation of developing into a smart university, aiming to train 12,000 students by 2030. The school proposed to arrange a land fund of 450,000 - 600,000m2 to ensure the standards of a modern higher education institution.

Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Than affirmed that the province always supports and is ready to create favorable conditions for the development of the school. He emphasized that overall planning and building new facilities are prerequisites for the school to develop sustainably, reaching regional and international standards. The province is committed to closely directing site clearance work and supporting the effective implementation of the project.
Regarding the management mechanism, Hung Yen province recommends continuing to study appropriate decentralization to improve the initiative and operational efficiency of the school in the new development stage.
Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc highly appreciated the active participation of Hung Yen province and said that the Ministry will consider the plan to build a new facility, and at the same time agree with the policy of studying a management decentralization model suitable to the characteristics of the medical university.
Before the meeting, the working group conducted a field survey of the planned construction area of the new campus of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Hung Yen.
