At the 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee to assess the implementation of important national projects and works on July 9, chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, many key contents on the progress of investment in transport infrastructure were discussed, including the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.
According to the report of the Steering Committee, out of 48 tasks assigned at the previous meeting, 23 tasks have been completed, 17 tasks are being regularly deployed, 7 tasks are behind schedule and 1 task is not yet due. Ministries, branches and localities are focusing on implementing key national projects on railways, especially the North-South high-speed railway and regional connecting routes.
For the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, the section passing through Hung Yen province is about 16.87 km long, passing through Thuong Hong ward and two communes of Lac Dao and Dai Dong. The total area to be cleared in the province is more than 72 hectares.
Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Than said that, identifying this as an important national project, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has included it in the list of key projects of the province, assigning the Provincial Party Committee Secretary to be the Head of the Steering Committee. The Provincial People's Committee has made a plan and assigned specific tasks to departments, branches and local authorities to carry out the work of measuring, marking and preparing the site.
Provincial leaders also regularly directly inspect and direct on the field; localities in project areas should step up propaganda and information disclosure to people, while strictly controlling to prevent illegal construction or taking advantage of policies to cause instability of security and order.
With high determination, Hung Yen province is committed to focusing on site clearance, ensuring the progress assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister, contributing to the overall success of the strategic railway line connecting the Northern key economic region.
