According to initial information, at noon on March 16, Pham Thi Thien Huong (7th grade student, Quang Hung Secondary School, Quang Hung commune, Hung Yen province) after returning home from school showed severe abdominal pain and continuous vomiting. Suspecting something was wrong, relatives checked and discovered that she had drunk pesticide, then immediately took her to Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Thanks to being taken away in time, by March 17, Huong had passed the critical condition and woke up. However, according to her family, her psychology was still unstable, often panicked, scared, and burst into tears and tremors when she met strangers. Currently, she is continuing to be monitored by doctors for poisoning and psychological support.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Hien (Huong's aunt), Huong's family circumstances are quite special, both parents died of cancer when he was only 4 years old, is the only child, and currently lives with his paternal grandparents who are over 80 years old.
Relatives said that she is a sentimental person, but from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year to now, she shows signs of being isolated, teased and mentally pressured by some classmates.
According to Huong's story to his family, the incident started from a conflict with a classmate through a group chat on social networks from the 6th grade summer vacation.
After that, many friends turned their backs on me, gave me nicknames that were mocking, even took photos, edited them in a negative direction and shared them in a wider scope at school. This situation has lasted for a long time, putting me under heavy psychological pressure.
The family said that Huong had reported the incident to the homeroom teacher 3 times and reported to the principal 1 time, but according to reports, the incident has not been handled satisfactorily. He was asked to "accept and make peace with his friends", while the situation of being isolated continued.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Luu Quang Ai - Head of Tho Lao village, Quang Hung commune (Hung Yen province) - confirmed that the locality has grasped initial information about Huong's case. He said that Huong's circumstances are difficult when living with elderly grandparents, lacking direct care from parents.
Representatives of Quang Hung Commune People's Committee also said that the local government is waiting for an official report from the school to have a basis for considering and clarifying the related contents. The school is currently summarizing and reporting on the case.
