The aspiration to contribute from excellent students in Ca Mau

Not only having impressive scores, many Ca Mau students aspire to use their knowledge and youth to contribute to building their homeland and country.

Today's achievement is luggage for tomorrow

High scores may open the door to university, but what makes the sustainable value of excellent students is the desire to contribute with knowledge. That is also the message spread at the commendation ceremony for 20 students with high achievements in the 2026 High School Graduation Exam organized by Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee on July 3.

According to the results announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, the high school graduation rate this year in Ca Mau province reached 98.6%. The whole province has 54 exam papers achieving 10 points, of which History has 32 10 points, Math 14 10 points, Agricultural Technology 4 10 points; Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics each have 1 10 point. Notably, the number of Math exam papers achieving 8 points or more has increased sharply, from 392 papers in 2025 to 1,502 papers this year.

The valedictorian of the whole province is Bui Le Ha Nhan, a student of Gia Rai High School, with a total score of 37.25. The two runners-up are Quach Tuan Dat (Hermann Gmeiner Ca Mau High School) and Duong Ly Nha Ky (Bac Lieu Specialized High School), both achieving 36.25 points.

Speaking at the commendation ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan said that in the context of the whole country implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, the education sector needs to strongly shift from knowledge transfer to developing the qualities, capabilities and aspirations for dedication of learners; taking quality as a measure, innovation and digital transformation as a driving force to train high-quality human resources.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan proposed that the education sector continue to improve the quality of teaching and learning, pay attention to discovering and nurturing excellent students, gifted students, and students in difficult circumstances; and at the same time build a humane and creative educational environment, contributing to forming a class of citizens with knowledge, bravery and integration capacity.

For the students who were commended, the Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee advised that the achievements achieved today are not the destination but the starting point of a new journey. Whether studying or working anywhere, they should always nurture aspirations, maintain the spirit of dedication, and carry in themselves the pride of being children of Ca Mau to contribute to building an increasingly developed homeland.

Nurturing dreams with knowledge and responsibility

Among the students commended, the story of valedictorian Bui Le Ha Nhan is not only impressive for her academic achievements but also for her very simple dream.

With a total score of 37.25, including Math 10 points, Biology 9.75 points, Chemistry 9.25 points and Literature 8.25 points, Ha Nhan became the valedictorian of the 2026 High School Graduation Exam of Ca Mau province.

The male student said that the results achieved were thanks to continuous efforts in studying, promoting self-study spirit, proactively researching materials and applying information technology to access knowledge.

What makes many people most touched is that when talking about the future, Ha Nhan does not mention a high-income job or a large working environment, but chooses the teaching profession.

Becoming a teacher has been my dream since I was little. I want to pass on the knowledge I have learned to future generations of students, just like the way teachers have wholeheartedly taught me," Ha Nhan said.

According to Mr. Vo Nhat Minh Tam, Principal of Gia Rai High School, Ha Nhan has been a good student of the school for many years, and has won provincial-level excellent student prizes in English. His achievements will add motivation for many students to continue to strive on the path of learning.

Also carrying the aspiration to contribute in a different way, Trinh Han Han became the valedictorian of the Department of Drama, Cinema - Television Actors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema with a total score of 26.82 in the S00 combination.

In the 2026 high school graduation exam, Han Han achieved 8.5 points in Literature and 9.75 points in History.

I think acting is not just acting to look like it, but to understand what the character is thinking and feeling. I hope to bring stories that touch the audience's emotions with truth," Han Han shared.

Behind Han Han's success is the persistence in pursuing her passion and the companionship of her family. Initially worried because her daughter pursued art, but when witnessing her determination and will, her parents became a support for her to be confident on the chosen path.

Each student has a different dream. Some students want to become teachers, some choose art, many will become doctors, engineers, scientists or technology experts. But the common point of these students is that they all see today's achievements as just a starting point to continue studying, training and contributing.

The certificates of merit will be kept as a beautiful milestone of student age. The long-term remaining thing is the aspiration to rise up with knowledge and a sense of responsibility to the community. That is also the greatest value that this year's commendation ceremony for excellent students sends: nurturing a young generation that is not only good at studying, but also knows how to live with ideals, be responsible and willing to contribute to building the homeland of Ca Mau, together with the country entering a new stage of development.
