Groundbreaking ceremony for Nam Dan 1 High School nearly 300 billion VND

Nghe An - The province started construction of Nam Dan 1 High School with an investment of nearly 300 billion VND, expected to be completed and put into use in the 2027-2028 school year.

On August 7, the People's Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with sponsors to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Nam Dan 1 High School in Van An commune.

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra; leaders of central ministries and branches, Nghe An province and representatives of sponsoring units.

The project has a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND from the local budget and socialized sources, built on a land area of nearly 5ha.

According to the design, the school has a scale to accommodate about 2,000-2,200 students, the total floor area of the main building blocks is nearly 17,700m2. The project is synchronously invested in items such as library, subject classroom, multi-purpose building, swimming pool, sports field, greenery and experimental garden.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra requested Nghe An province, the investor and related units to implement the project to ensure progress, quality, and safety; effectively manage and use investment capital sources.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested to strive to complete the project to put it into use in the 2027-2028 school year.

Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai said that the project has a scale of 48 classrooms. The province sets a target to complete the project before August 30, 2027 and put it into use in the 2027-2028 school year.

Mr. Vo Trong Hai requested Van An commune and departments and branches to urgently complete site clearance, infrastructure and related procedures, not to affect the project progress.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and leaders of Nghe An province presented gifts to 100 students of Nam Dan 1 High School who are in difficult circumstances, diligent, and study well.

Nam Dan 1 High School was established in 1961, located in Phan Boi Chau hamlet, Van An commune, Nghe An province, with an area of 13,000 m2. The school has 40 classes with 1,824 students. The current facilities system has deteriorated. The school construction is expected to create a spacious and modern facilities, creating a high-quality educational environment.
