On January 28, Da Nang University officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for projects under Sub-Project 1 - Construction of technical infrastructure and urgent projects for Da Nang University in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc, borrowing capital from the World Bank.
This is a landmark event in the process of implementing the Da Nang University Village project that has been'suspended' for nearly 3 decades.
Accordingly, Sub-Project 1 is implemented with particularly important significance in the Strategy to develop Da Nang University into a training and high-quality scientific research center of the Central - Central Highlands region and the whole country, especially in the context that Da Nang University is one of the 4 universities chosen by the Central Government to invest keyly as a model of the Vietnamese higher education system.
Investing in construction, synchronizing technical infrastructure and essential works will create an important foundation to form a modern, green and sustainable university urban area, meeting the requirements of training high-quality human resources in the new period.

The project was approved and implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training in the period from 2021 to 2027.
Within the framework of Sub-Project 1, Da Nang University organized the groundbreaking ceremony for 5 important projects, with a total contract value of nearly 1,080 billion VND.
Items include: Da Nang University Center, Hall and internal landscape items belonging to Da Nang University Center; Experimental building block, Hall and internal landscape belonging to Da Nang University of Technology and Education - Da Nang University.
There are also the lecture hall and internal landscape buildings belonging to the University of Foreign Languages - Da Nang University; The school building, lecture hall and internal landscape building belonging to the Vietnam-UK International School, Da Nang University; And the school and dining hall, dormitory and internal landscape building belonging to the National Defense - Security and Sports Education Center, Da Nang University (Multi-purpose Education Area).
At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Da Nang University, assessed that these projects are of great significance, contributing to forming a synchronous and modern system of facilities, directly serving training, scientific research and study, and activities of officials, lecturers, and students of Da Nang University in the coming time.
At the same time, contributing to making Da Nang a high-quality human resource training center, a startup and innovation center.
The Da Nang University Village Project was implemented in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc, the Prime Minister approved the General Plan from 1997 in Decision No. 1057 dated December 9, 1997, with a training scale of about 30,000 students by 2010, total land use area of 300 ha.
Of which, 110 hectares belong to Hoa Quy ward in Ngu Hanh Son district (now Ngu Hanh Son ward, Da Nang city) and 190 hectares belong to Dien Ngoc ward in Dien Ban town, former Quang Nam province (now Dien Ban Dong ward).
