On May 13, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province said that the Council for considering and awarding the titles "People's Teacher", "Excellent Teacher" at the provincial level has completed the 17th selection in 2026.
As a result, 28 individuals met the conditions and standards and achieved 90% or more of the Council's consensus votes.
According to Notice No. 156 dated May 12, 2026, the Council for considering awarding the titles "People's Teacher", "Excellent Teacher" at the provincial level has held a meeting, appraised dossiers and organized the selection of individuals proposed for noble titles in the education sector.
At the meeting held on May 11, the Council focused on reviewing the accuracy, truthfulness and validity of dossiers and evidentiary documents; and at the same time compared the standards and conditions according to the provisions of Article 7 and Article 8 of Decree No. 35/2024/ND-CP of the Government.
The review process is carried out publicly, objectively, and in accordance with procedures. The Council also comprehensively assesses the qualities, achievements, working process and level of influence of each individual in the education sector.
The results of the secret ballot showed that 28 individuals met the conditions and standards and achieved 90% or more of the total votes of agreement of the Council members.
Among them, 1 individual was proposed for consideration for the title "People's Teacher" and 27 individuals were proposed for consideration for the title "Excellent Teacher".
